List price for my 2004 Acura RSX Type-S?

Need to sell 2004 acura rsx type s, moving out of country in 12 months. So I have time to put for bid/negotiate etc.

History: bought it new in 2004. 1st owner. No accidents. ALL maintenance records in hand. Clean carfax in hand dated 8/2019.

Condition: 20K MILES. Passes smog. Pearl white oem paint. Garaged 99% of the year. I drive it 10 miles a week to stretch its legs then right back in the garage. No scratches, no oxidation, no swirl marks, no shopping cart dings, not even yellow headlights. Orig tires and wheels Smells great. Washed and waxed 3x /yr.

Mods (I know doesn't mean anything but i will mention anyway): AEM intake Eibach lowering springs Custom Exhaust head to tail (done professionally no check engine light) A-pillar gauge cluster. All Done by the same clean reputable shop with ALL papers in hand.

Was gonna sell for kbb of like 7K but my honda fanboy friends nearly slapped me. How much should I sell for.

Start with 6K and let someone make an offer you can live with. If no offers at 6 then lower it

That's a $6000-$7000 car. Original 17-year old tires are nothing to brag about, your mods are worthless, and the lowering kit will likely be a turn-off for most serious buyers. You're not getting retail, and no lender would ever finance a car this old. You need the right buyer, who has cash only. Not many of them around.

Part of it's value is going to depend on WHERE you are located. Such a car will be worth a lot less in Edmonton, Alberta than Miami, Florida, for example. It's also going to depend on how often you have had the oil and other fluids changed. The oil should be changed at least annually even if the car is barely driven. If everything you say is true and can be verified, and you don't live in snow country I'd put a price of 12,000 USD on it.

KBB is about 6K - give or take.

You could start it a little higher and let them talk you down.

First of all the mods you have done hurt the value of the car. Saying that, in my area of the US The car would retail at a used car lot for around $6,000. As you are not a dealer and will sell the car "AS IS" expect to get around $5,000 to $5,500.

  • Possibly buying an 2004 Acura TL. Looking for testimonies? I'm thinking about buying a 2004 Acura TL from a private seller. The car as 79k on it. I heard some crazy stories regarding the transmissions on Honda products in general. That's the only thing holding me back right now. I'm not exactly sure if I want to purchase the car because I don't want to pay 4K on replacing a transmission. If you have a 04 TL can you please drop your testimony and experiences of the car. Transmission stories would be appreciated.
  • Is it worth it to trade a 2003 Toyota Corolla almost 130k miles for a 2004+ Acura TL 90k-110k miles? This is my moms old car and she got the Honda Pilot, she gave it her old car to me as my first car, but I want to trade it for a nicer car but used Acura are expensive and every time I asked the sellers to trade my Corolla and says no. Do you think Acura owners don't like Toyota?
  • Volkswagen GTI vs Supercharged Scion TC vs Acura RSX type S vs Honda Civic Si? As far as being a good car for a college student to commute back and forth to school? Good looking, somewhat quick(er) and reliable!
  • Trading in my 02 Acura RSX to a 95 Honda Civic? I kinda rush in to buy a new car. Bought the 2002 acura rsx around $5000 plus tax so it's around $8000. I kinda regret buying it because of the high insurance. I still have to pay back the loan. I Want to trade it in for a 1995 honda civic because it's cheaper. So my question is will the dealership let me trade it in?
