85 honda shadow idled out now won't start?
I was coming up to a set of lights and all of a sudden it felt like the engine was losing power, then i came up to the next set of lights and when i let off the throttle it died after about 10 seconds, it just started idling slower and slower until it died, i quickly restarted it, but i have to keep revving my engine like crazy at stops and when i was pulling in the clutch to slow down, has anyone had this problem before?

The Pilot Circuit controls idle, so could be something to do with that.
However, make sure the battery connections are tight to. Also get them clean / shiny if needed.
Check fuel flow, and make sure you have a good spark on all (Blue / Purple in colour).
Always give year, make and model "number"
Shadows come in many different styles and engine sizes.
Everything is different and each has their own idiosyncrasies.
Dirt carburetor.
Drain each carb individually into a clean cup to see what comes out.
Attach a hose to the bottom of the float bowl and open the drain screw.
Dirty fuel/fuel filter! Carbs probably have "trash" in them!
- I have a 1996 Honda Shadow ACE. It won't start even though the battery is charged. What can I do? I just got the battery charged and the bike still won't start. I can hear it trying but it just won't catch. I know very little about engines but could it be the fuel pump or carburetor that needs to be cleaned or replaced. If so, how do I do that?
- Honda cb650 motorcycle won't start now? It was running.great but leaking a decent amount of fuel from the carbs so i disassembled cleaned the.drain pins reassembled. Now it will not.start. At all. It turns over but won't start. Then it floods. Any ideas?
- I have a Honda HRX217 push mower. Backfired when trying to start it, now it won't start? It was running, then I shut it off to open and close a gate, and when I went to start it again there was a really loud backfire and now it won't start. It will sound like it's almost about to start but not. Then get progressively weaker each pull. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas?
- I bought I ped last week now it won't start? Last week I bought a Honda sky 50! It has been looked after well and is in good nick! It started using both the starter motor and kick start! I went to get it out of my garage today 8 days after and it would not start! The battery was fully charged and the starter motor did turn! There was plenty of fuel and the spark plug is okay! Any ideas why it won't start?
