Beginner motor bike suggestions?
Hey I'm currently 16 (17 in a few months) and I'm planning on doing my CBT as soon as possible to be able to get my first bike. I'm roughly 6 1 (186cm ish) and roughly 242 lbs (109 kg). Planning on getting a Honda CBR 125 as I really like the look of the bike and have seen some good reviews for it. Any thoughts?
.
Um…, everything seems ok, except you are tall, and over weight, so your weight ratio for smaller 125 may be too high and you either lose weight or get larger cycle like 250 500,

Ok maybe not, just checking weigh ranges
A125 is a really small bike for you. I started on a 600 class and most of my friends did as well. It's not a matter of the cc rating, it's the need to respect it. 600 is the class of bike you can ride street, track, go fast, and still have great handling on while still getting 50 miles per gallon. Start on a 600 and respect it, you won't regret it.
Ignore the lost Americans - they forget that the rest of the world doesn't run to their rules.
Sports 125's are physically smaller, when compared to off-road styled bikes. Yes, the CBR-125 is a great bike, but try one for size first - you will feel very cramped. For a person of your size, something tall like a Honda XL-125V Varadero or Yamaha WR-125 will fit you better (I'm 6' and 250lbs - I tried a sports 125 for a laugh recently and I don't fit, at all…).
Now, I appreciate you may not like off-road styled bikes, but that's where you may need to compromise - a bike you like the look of, but aren't comfortable riding, or a bike that you don't like the look of, but can ride all day, in comfort.
I personally feel for beginners to practice, also don't hurry up after on the road, such not only to himself and to others is an irresponsible behavior
- What's a good beginner sport bike? Is a 2008 honda cbr600rr a great choice? Or there's more? I started liking sport bikes like today and i learned alot of bikes names. Having a 1000cc is my dream in the future. I like bikes with great sounds and great body and style. Ducati panigale 1199 is probably the best looking one i have seen on the interent and it is my dream of having one
- What would you recommend as a beginner bike on my list? 200 cc dual sport (I will sometimes go on the dirt with it), a ninja 250, a ninja 300, a Honda cbr 300, or a cbr 500?
- What's a good beginner bike for a tall rider? I've always wanted to get a bike ever since my mom let me ride one when I was 12. I'm a 16 year old girl, 5'9", 135 pounds. I was thinking about a Triumph Bonneville (it's my dream to own one but now I'm thinking it's too small) or a Honda. Does anyone know what would be a good bike for me, even if I grow an inch or two more before I can afford one?
- What is a good beginner bike for a big guy? What would be a good touring, cruiser type starter bike for a big guy. I'm a 400 pound guy and am looking for a great starter/cruiser bike. I have looked at a honda shadow 650, or a vulcan 800, but am unsure of how powerful they actually are and if i can even handle it.
