Honda CBR600RR vs Honda CBR650F?

What's the difference? Which do you think is better? (not a new rider, looking for a newer bike)

Honda cbr600rr Is a very very very good bike.

There's no "better" -- only different.

The 600Rr is 50 pounds lighter, for being better on the track, with the motor tweaked to peak power at the lost of low end. The 650F is better on the streets.

I wouldn't have either -- on the streets the Thumper rules. A Suzuki S40 will beat either to 35 mph, after which they have to break the speed limits to catch up.

Honda does something that I think is wrong. The 'CBR' badge used to mean an all-out sportbike, what we call a 'supersport', a bike more at home on the track than the street. The CBR 600 and 1000 compete with Suzuki GSX-R, Yamaha R6 and R1, Kawasaki Ninja ZX 600 and 1000. These are highly-specialized single-purpose machines whose designs sacrifice everything to speed and handling. 600cc and 1000cc are standard track categories, so supersports come in those sizes.

But now there's a whole family of CBRs and all the others are standards, general purpose machines. The CBR 300 is a friendly little trainer, designed to be easy to learn, easy to ride. The CBR 650 is a mid-sized 4-cylinder standard, general purpose, good for all-around riding.

(Kawasaki does the same thing with the Ninja, a standard, and the Ninja ZX, a supersport.)

Most Japanese 650s are twins--Kawasaki Ninja, Suzuki SV650 and V-Strom 650, etc. The CBR 650 is a 4. Twins and fours ride a little differently, some prefer one, some the other. And while all the Japanese mfgrs are very good, I think Honda is the best in terms of engineering, build quality, reliability, longevity, etc.

The 600 is a supersport, so it's fast as hell, true crotch rocket.
The 650F isn't as aggressive, more of an intermediate bike. Still much faster than you'd ever need to go, but it won't keep up with the 600.

The 650 is a lower power motorcycle with more low and mid range torque to provide a better and easier ride on the street.

The 600 is a racebike with lights.

  • Would a Honda CBR650f be easy or hard to maintain? I've never ridden before so I'm debating between the cbr 500 or the 650. Look I know the 500 is prob a better choice for a beginner, but my first car was a camaro ss 2010… So what would you recommend me to get? Would the 500 be Any different then the 650?
  • Will running my headpipe mess up the engine on my 2009 Honda CBR600RR? I've seen lots of people say it's bad and others say that it won't bother the engine at all. So can someone please give me an answer. I've removed my stock exhaust and left just the headers on my bike. It seems to run normal, it's quite a bit louder though. This is not a permanent thing, just something I thought about doing for a couple months until I can get a full exhaust kit.
  • What is the minimum amount of times should I operate the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle if I operate the 2008 Honda? CBR600RR super sport motorcycle in New York City and park the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle in New York City?
  • Is the sound of the honda CBR650F muffled? I'm planing to buy the new Honda CBR 650F i have checked all the dealers around me and they said they don't have one in stock So my question to you is how does this machine sounds? I love the sound of the bikes that scream like those formula 1 cars You know the sound i'm talking about? I know the 650 is not considered super sport but do you still get some of that sound or its muffled like the 250cc?
