please anybody help…
While there's generally a specific "First Service" that is performed, the most important part is changing out the oil to get the "bits" out of the oil that are produced during engine break-in.
So as Chris mentioned, your second service, was actually your first service. The only things on the first service that may or may not have been performed are an overall inspection. Checking the cluch handles, cables, break levers, fluids, brakes, etc. Just an overall inspection to see everything is still in working condition.
If you have no reason to believe the bike is not working correctly and you got the initial factory oil out of the bike? You are good to go until around 3,000 miles. If you want peace of mind, go ahead and take it back in for a full inspection, however it most likely is not necessary.
My first bike was already broken in when I bought it, but I still had it inspected to be certain. My second bike I got with 0 miles, and did the engine break in myself. Full range of RPM, gear, hard, soft, up to 250 miles then changed it out. Ran well, a so called "harder break in." My third, and current bike, I took it a little easier and maintained the "under 6k RPM" up to around 750 miles and then had the "First Service" performed.
Can read up on "break in" strategy as it is all over the internet. Everyone is on the same page though that once you perform the first oil change, you should be good to go until routine maintenance suggests you go back. (Main difference is how hard to run the engine until that first oil change, and when it should be performed. Everyone generally agrees with behavior after it.)
Its okay brother
no need to be paranoid
mileage will increase in your second servicing for sure
and make sure your rest of services are done from time to time
How many km has the bike gone?
if the engine oil has been changed then
everything is all right no need to worry
Your 'second service' was your 'first' and now it's time for your second.
- Just bought a new Honda, when should the first oil change be done? Just bought a new Honda Pilot. Owner's manual says it comes with a special break-in oil from the factory but no mention of the mileage it should be changed. So when should I change it?
- Which bike would be a good first sport bike. Looking at CBR1000/600's and also the yamaha R1/R6? I don't know much about the differences, I know some people are all for Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, of Kawasaki. Seems that whatever bike someone has, they say its the best. I wish I could just ride all of them and see for myself. Tampa, FL Sam
- Has anyone done a sport bike/crotch rocket swingarm swap on a 79 Honda CB750? I'd like to do a few custom touches to my bike. I was wondering if anyone has done a swap on the swingarm from a crotch rocket or sport bike to a Honda CB750? If so, what kind/size swingarm, what if any fan work was needed, etc?
- If I don't service my new car for first 100,000 miles will it break down? Will just do synthetic oil changes every 15,000 miles + oil filter and air filter every 30,000 miles. No other services. Will my Honda last that long without any problems?
