Is the Honda Rebel 500 a good starter bike?
If you are attracted to its standard / cruiser styling and ergonomics, yes, the Rebel 500 parallel-twin is a great starter bike, as is its single-cylinder little brother, the Rebel 300.
Both models were revised for 2017; here is a glowing review I just read, from Cycle World magazine:
2017 Honda Rebel 300 and 500 Review
If the sportier, full-body-work style is more to your liking, consider the single-cylinder Honda CB300, or one of its competitors in that size range from other makers. Here's a comparison review, also from Cycle World:

Yes.
- What's a good starter motorcycle similar to the Honda Rebel? I'm 5'10, and weigh 150 pounds. I like the honda rebel, but i realize that it may be too small for me. I want a good looking, easy to ride, starter bike that has freeway capabilities.
- What is a good starter dirt bike? I 160lbs and 5'6 I'm 25 and would like to start using a dirt bike. What would be a good starter type like cc's. Also, never driven a street bike. I have heard honda has good bikes.
- Should I get an 87 Honda rebel for 1500 or a 15 Honda rebel for 4100? Both will have same insurance rate. I know the older one will have more problems to fix but is cheaper up front while the newer one cost more now but will have less problems in the future. Also in case you are wondering the 87 is a 450cc and the 15 is a 234cc.
- Motorcycle starter over heated starter and only the solenoid clicked so i rebuilt the starter n tested it with a battery n it worked fine? Put it back in bike and again only the solenoid clicks… Is there a fuse for the starter or a relay i may have blown? 1988 honda hurricaine 1000F i'm ready to hang it up but the bike runs so good when it runs. i ran out of gas n kept trying to start it till battery was dead and that is how it got this way. Please and thank-you starter works fine when hooked up to a battery off the bike. what gives?
