Motorcycles: What would be the better buy: 2006 Honda CBR600F4i or 2015 Honda CBR650F?
I have a 2007 Kawasaki 650R and have been thinking of trading because I've had the bike since 2007, which I bought new. I've been thinking of the Yamaha FZ-07,
but some have said it's too similar to bother changing for. I've always liked the yellow 2006 Honda CBR600F4i. I've never ridden an inline 4 before. Would it be a better move to buy a new 2015 CBR650R
over the used 2006 CBR600F4i even though the CBRD650F is underpowered? Thank you.
p.s. I'm also interested in the CBR600F4i because I've read they're very reliable and long lasting.
The CBR600 and CBR650 are two completely different kinds of motorcycles. The 600 is a supersport, the 650 is a standard. A supersport is a special-purpose bike, made for one thing. A standard is more general-purpose.
The 600 is faster and handles better because its design compromises everything else for speed and handling--i.e. Comfort, practicality, reliability, etc. Young guys buy supersports for all-around riding because they like the look, and the power. I always recommend against them as a first bike, but you've had some experience so it would be okay if that's what you wanted. From what I've heard the CBR600 is the least 'extreme' of its class (which also includes the Kawasaki Ninja ZX, Suzuki GSX-R, and Yamaha R6).
The 650 is a more all-around bike, more comfortable on a long trip, softer seat, better seating position, wider powerband, more 'user friendly'. It has about 85 hp which is well under the 600 but that ought to be enough for anyone.
Go to a Honda dealer and sit on both bikes and you'll see the difference right away!
The real question is - will you ever sell the 650R?! It's been an idea of yours for months now!
Go and find a CBR600 and the CBR650, sit on them, play with them and test ride them (preferably back-to-back). Do the maths and then figure out which you prefer and want to buy.
Both will be totally different than the 650R (and the FZ07)
And the story continues.
Nobody can make your mind up for you. You have spent months and months prevaricating. Jump down one side of the fence (yours seems to have six or seven sides to it).
- Would a Honda CBR650f be easy or hard to maintain? I've never ridden before so I'm debating between the cbr 500 or the 650. Look I know the 500 is prob a better choice for a beginner, but my first car was a camaro ss 2010… So what would you recommend me to get? Would the 500 be Any different then the 650?
- Motorcycles: Is a Honda CBR600F4i as reliable as they're made out to be? I really like the '06 Honda CBR600F4i with the yellow paint scheme. I notice that even a lot older ones are still holding value. Does the fairing rattle and buzz like cheaper motorcycles?
- How much faster is the Honda Interceptor (VFR800) than the Honda CBR650F? How much faster is the interceptor (VFR800) than the CBR650F? Also with the interceptor increased power wouldn't the chain break a lot? Thanks And how fast is the CBR650F and the Interceptor? MPH
- Honda Super Magna or Honda CBR600F4i? I'm looking for performance (just 0-60 in 5secs and a top speed of around 120), long rides, super reliable (I'm gonna put a ton of miles on it), and easiness to maintain.
