Bike guys. 92 Honda Shadow. 22,000 miles. Asking $1200. Good deal or not?
I'm totally new to street bikes, although I've ridden dirtbikes a lot. Just looking for any insights on the bike itself (I've heard they're fun and reliable) and thoughts on the pricing.
I'm not looking for websites or anything, I've already done some research. I'm looking for actual experience.
Shadows are reliable - mileage is not too high - but you are buying a bike that no longer has OEM parts readily available - most bike shops will not touch older bikes for that reason. So if you can't, don't or won't turn a wrench then stay away - any bike will have some need for attention at some point - there are no sure things - but the shadows are very reliable and easily maintained in general - good support groups (forums) too if you need help.
Do not buy any bike that does not have fuel injection. Stay away from bikes with a carburetor. The Honda Shadow is a great dependable bike that will serve you well.
Honda built a whole series of bikes called Shadow, from 125cc on up to 1100cc. WHICH ONE are you looking at?
- Would you purchase a 2004 Honda pilot for $6,000.000 that has 216,000 miles on it? I'm just browsing online looking at cars for sale and a lot of them have 200k or more miles on them and they want $4,000 or more. Why do people sale their cars for such a high price with a lot of miles on them? Its not just Hondas its all types of cars private and dealers as well
- Is this 2004 Honda Shadow Spirit a good deal? So this is my first bike purchase and I want some opinions before I go for it. The bike I'm interested in has been dropped on both sides, needs front brakes, a rear tire, oil change, and turn signals. It is going for $2000 and has 23K miles on it. It also has a Cobra exhaust system that the owner says is worth $450. http://ventura.craigslist.org/mcy/4577908483.html How much would I be looking at for repairs as well?
- I'm deciding between a 2001 Harley Davidson sportster 1200 custom or a 2000 Honda Shadow sabre don't know which one to get The Harley Davidson sportster custom 1200 has 17,000 miles it's green and he wants 3,300 for it. Or a Honda Shadow sabre has 7000 miles on it and it's blue they want 2,999 for it 3221 including taxes.
- 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000? Is this a good deal? I need to buy a new car and today I got an offer on a 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000. I'm a 19 year old girl and I know nothing about cars D: Are Honda Fits good cars? Should I buy this with so many miles already on it? Also, I like to travel. Will this car be safe to drive long distances?
