Should I upgrade from a Honda CBR500r to a CBR650f or Ninja 1000?
I'll try to be quick. I took the MSF class before having ever ridden any bike. I ended up getting a CBR250r. I upgraded to a CBR500r 2 months later for a couple of reasons.
1. Just felt under powered… Especially on the interstate.
2. The vibrations were so annoying after 45 minute trips.
So I'm currently riding my CBR500r and have been riding for about a year. I've come across an opportunity where i can upgrade. I've had my eyes set on the CBR650f because I want to maintain the same upright riding position. I do NOT want a 600 for that reason alone. I just don't care for the positio.
Then i sat on a Ninja 1000 and was surprised at the feel(only sat on it). It felt light and the handlebars are great for me.
So my question is would jumping from a 500 to a 1000 be extreme? I've read mixed reviews on the 650f. Some say it's a nice bike, but lacks personality. It's boring. I'm torn. I'm sure the 650f will suit me immediately for a while. However, I don't want to have wished I gotten the Ninja 1000… After a few months. Opinions please ;-)
A Man picks his own poison so if you think you can swallow a 1000 be my guest.

Nobody knows who you are so nobody can tell you what you should do.
My guess would be to get a 750… It is between the two sizes you like.
I've been riding for the better part of 3 decades. I had a liter-bike and I sold it. Besides the huge power hit, it wasn't that fun to ride. It was't the weight, it was the fact that in most situations you could't safely dip into more than a fraction of the power. You had to be extremely careful how you fed the power to the rear when exiting a corner. Plus, you could just be lazy and leave it in 3rd most of the time. I like a less powerful motorcycle that requires more shifting and doesn't need to be treated as carefully as something with 160+ horsepower. To me, the 650 would be more fun, not just a transitional step to a 1000.
- Would a Honda CBR650f be easy or hard to maintain? I've never ridden before so I'm debating between the cbr 500 or the 650. Look I know the 500 is prob a better choice for a beginner, but my first car was a camaro ss 2010… So what would you recommend me to get? Would the 500 be Any different then the 650?
- Ninja 300 or Honda CBR500r for beginner? I'm looking at getting a bike and the two that interest me are the Ninja 300 and the Honda CBR500r. Just want to know what you guys would pick and why? I'm leaning towards the Ninja 300. Like the looks of it better but i'm also 6'4'' and about 175 Lbs so that may be a little small in size, motor has plenty of powerful might be a little cramped though. But anyway, what are your thoughts?
- Is the sound of the honda CBR650F muffled? I'm planing to buy the new Honda CBR 650F i have checked all the dealers around me and they said they don't have one in stock So my question to you is how does this machine sounds? I love the sound of the bikes that scream like those formula 1 cars You know the sound i'm talking about? I know the 650 is not considered super sport but do you still get some of that sound or its muffled like the 250cc?
- I have a 2002 Honda xr100r and I want to upgrade the suspension so I can hit bigger jumps. What should I get? I want more suspension than the dirt bike came with and I want to spend the least amount of money possible.
