My 2008 Honda Rebel will not go in neutral?
I have a 2008 Honda Rebel that will not go in neutral while its running. It will only go into neutral if I shut it off. I took it to the local shop and they adjusted the clutch cable and gear lever with no success.
If you believe that Shop stop believing in everything.
Okay, there's a problem and a simple clutch cable adjustment didn't fix it.
Have you change the oil and filter lately? Inspected it for debris?
Quite possible that the inner shift forks are warped/bent which means a minor rebuild.
Sorry, best that I could do without more info.
Transmission repair is necessary.
I can't rule out mechanical damage from your description.
But… If it shifts not running, that at least proves it's not totally busted.
Clutch adjustment starts at the clutch itself, not the cable. Cable adjustment should be last because it only sets the free play at the lever. Find another shop, or a manual. Those guys must be clueless.
Sure sounds like the clutch is not fully disengaging.
- What is the minimum amount of times should I operate the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle if I operate the 2008 Honda? CBR600RR super sport motorcycle in New York City and park the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle in New York City?
- Should I get an 87 Honda rebel for 1500 or a 15 Honda rebel for 4100? Both will have same insurance rate. I know the older one will have more problems to fix but is cheaper up front while the newer one cost more now but will have less problems in the future. Also in case you are wondering the 87 is a 450cc and the 15 is a 234cc.
- Do I need to only start the 2008 CBR600RR or do I need to operate and ride the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super sport to destinations? I was wondering about during times when the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle is in storage, especially during cold winter temperatures.
- Choke not engaging in Honda Rebel 450? I have an 86 Honda Rebel 450. Bike runs great however the choke switch does not engage at all. I can start the bike ifif I manually pull the choke up on the carbs, but the choke switch does nothing at all. Any idea what to do?
