Power steering fluid keeps going below minimum level in my 2015 Honda Pilot?
Hi, I drive a 2015 Honda Pilot which I bought in June of this year. Since then, I've had to refill power steering fluid 3 times because it falls below minimum level after a short period. I have not seen any fluid drops on the ground. I will bring the car to the dealership but is there anything I can do besides refilling the fluid again, so I don't have to make tbe trip to the dealership?
It has to be going somewhere… Fix it now or it will probably just get worse with time.
Take it back. It may be leaking into the rack and pinion.(not good)
You could go to the auto parts store and buy a cure in a can.
You should still be under warranty. Take it to the dealer.
Under warranty, take it back to the dealer and let them find the problem.
- What kind of power steering fluid? I have a 05 Hyundai elantra and the power steering fluid is red. Dark red, and a friend of mine told me to use Honda fluid in it when I replace it, I siphoned some out and put a bit of Honda fluid it but the Honda fluid is clear, is this a problem? And what kind of fluid should I use? He said the Honda fluid lubricates the system better than a generic multipurpose fluid. Its probly 1/2 Honda fluid now mixed with the old fluid.
- What is the minimum amount of times should I operate the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle if I operate the 2008 Honda? CBR600RR super sport motorcycle in New York City and park the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle in New York City?
- Does power steering fluid get hot if the car is just running and the steering isn't being used? If the pump is just spinning, recirculating fluid and nothing else… Would it still get hot? I had to bypass the pump from the rack and have the fluid recirculate. Would the pump get hot from just spinning? I know 8th gen Honda's don't have a cooler for the power steering anyways.
- Why is my oil level going down so quickly? I have a 2006 Honda crv with about 84k. I have been noticing that it is seeming to go through oil rather quickly. I replace it every 3k. I really don't think there's a leak, but I'm not a mechanic. Just troubleshooting maybe?
