Problems with honda engine?
I got an 01 Integra with a B18B1 in it and the other day I got gas in it and went home. Shut it off and then started it again to go back out about an hour later and the engine seems like its shaking back and forth, and the check engine light starts flashing. I thought it was the transmission mount so I replaced that since it was about to fall apart anyways but that didn't even work. Does anyone know what might be the problem? Does anyone think it could be bad gas?
Could be a faulty throttle position sensor, o2 sensor, etc. Best thing is to bring it to a mechanic and get the error code checked, they will be able to tell you exactly which part is faulty.
There really is no such thing as bad gas. It sounds to me like you might have a misfire which would explain the check engine light. But what would cause the misfire is hard to tell there could be a million things that could cause it. It could also be the engine mount but that would not usually cause the engine light to go on. So yeah I think it's a misfire.
- Can a 16.L engine fit into a 1998 Honda Civic LX? (before doing engine swap)? I had an blown motor on my 1998 Honda Civic LX, I have new spark plugs, distributor cap and some other items, however, since the old spark plugs happened to be melted as well, I have no option other to do a engine swap. I've been doing some research, and it seems like I only have the 1.6L engine as a option. By the way, the blown motor is a D16Y8, and is automatic.
- Where is/are the jack point(s) on the engine in a '97 Honda CR-V, for replacing the engine and trans mounts? When replacing engine mounts in any vehicle, one step is to lift the engine slightly. On my '97 Honda CR-V, the bottom side of the engine appears to be mostly obscured by the oil pan. (Of course, trying to use the pan would result in disaster.) Images would be great… Detailed images with arrows, etc, would ROCK!
- How much faster is a vtec engine than stock engine on 1993 honda civic dx? I have a 1993 honda civic sedan and my engine recently went bad so I'm gonna need a new one, this guy i know has a vtec engine for 900 so i was thinking about getting it but i wanted to know what benefits come with a vtec engine.
- Can i install upgrades for the Honda Accord 2000 with a 2.3L 4-cyl engine on a 2.0 4-cyl engine? Can i install upgrades for the Honda Accord 2000 with a 2.3L 4-cyl engine even though mine is a 2.0 4-cyl engine? Are there any difference to the engines other than the size of the engine itself? The upgrades includes things such as a Helix throttle body spacer and a cold air intake.
