Suggestions for car for my son?
My son is wanting either a 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 or a 2013 Subaru BRZ. He is a good driver, likes to drive a little fast but he gets that from me. If he gets the Dodge I'm gonna get him the 7.0 hemi v8 upgrade from our local mopar dealer. If I get him the Subaru I'm probably gonna turbo charge it. I would like him to get opinions on what car to get him. The other choice I had for him was a 2009 Honda S2000. And if anyone has insurance estimates on the cars. We live in South Carolina he has good grades (3.95 GPA) I think he can get a discount for grades, and has never been in an accident.
2013 Subaru BRZ
The insurance is still not in your favor. There's a reason insurance is outright expensive on these cars - fatalities are statisically high. If this is a first car, I'd only be willing to buy a BRZ or S2000 for a child as as the power for both comes on gradually. A ban from going past 3000 rpm will effectively prevent any stupid high risk driving from happening. For a muscle car, you have to be able to deal with having loads of torque at all RPMs.
I would go with the Subaru
My other choices would be 2010 Mitsubishi evo, 2011 Ford Mustang, VW Polo or Golf GTI and 2010 Ford Focus or Fiesta. All these cars have good power and handle well they would make a good first car
- Should I let my son do this? He wants to buy a Honda S2000 with 73,000 miles for $12,500 with his own money. I'm ok with it but I advise him not to. He wants to buy it now knowing how hard it is to come across a 2001 With that low of miles in great condition witch i believe is true. This will be his first car and he is a responsible driver but should I let him buy it? Part of me says yes and the other half no.
- Any suggestions for a dirt bike? I'm 13 years old, 5 ft 1, 118 plbs and looking for a dirt bike. I have no experience biking. My friend who bikes every weekend, told me that Honda 85cc is a good bike for my age and body type.
- What kind of car should I buy my college-age son? I was reading an article that the Honda Civic and Buick LeSabre would great for kids going to school. But I was talking to our neighbor and she bought her son an old BMW, like 2011, and her son didn't talk to her for weeks. I want my kid to have a good time at college and not be embarrassed, but the article said these two cars were really good for teenagers. I was kinda iffy when I read about the Honda and then they said the Buick, so this may be made up or something.
- My wife and son had a car accident? My wife and son got hit from the back at a stop, the one who hit from the back was blamed for the accident. My wife is 38 and son 16 they both went to therapy for 6 weeks for back pain but still don't know the bill price. We have a lawyer handling the case were also suppose to receive the money to fix our car the estimate was $1800 ( 08 Honda Civic hybrid ) I was wondering how much money would they be able to recover?
