What do you think would be cheaper? A 9 second honda? Or a 9 second nova with a 350? Cheaper to build?

Hi so lets start with new not old and then you would be talking some sense. So age and engine wear in all three does make a lot of difference kid. Yes i did write KID only a kid would ask such a dumb question.

If you are talking about a 9 second quarter mile, neither will do the job. The front wheel drive Honda will never come off the line well enough, no matter how much power it has, and the Nova could not get anywhere close with a 350. Even at its peak the 350cid Nova SS ran 14.5 second quarter miles.

I'd go with a domestic as certain things like aftermarket SBC engine parts are more cost effective and you don't have to deal with torque steer with a rwd car. If you have such high performance goals, why are you thinking about cost? Modifications aren't cheap to begin with
