What's it like working at a luxury dealer?
I'm currently a car salesman for a Nissan dealership and have been in the business for about a year, in a couple of months I'll be moving to a different state for college reasons. We're not paid commission, nor draw. It's salary + bonus. Out of curiosity, what is it like being a salesman for let's say, BMW, AUDI, LEXUS, etc?
I know they mostly get paid draw and don't sell as much as Nissan, Toyota, Honda, due to prices and whatnot, I would like some input thought, thanks!
Same job. Different car.
Every dealership is different in how they pay, whether it's a luxury dealer or not. Dealership management will often try to screw over sales people as well as customers, for the sake of profit. The car dealership business is very cutthroat and often unethical. So, beware.
I've never heard of car dealers who offer part time sales jobs for salary & bonus.
Maybe CarMax.
At most dealers, you get commission against a small draw. And if you don't earn your draw, you will quickly become a former employee as they will hire someone else to sell cars to friends & family.
There's high turnover among commission car sales people because many people don't have enough friends & family to sell cars to so that they can make a living at it.
And they hire way more salesman than walk in traffic will support.
- Why is it that some husbands let their wives drive luxury cars while they drive ordinary cars? I've been observing some of my neighbors (one of them is a stay at home mom) and the husbands drive ordinary cars like Honda Accord or Honda Pilot. But the wives tend to drive luxury cars like Acura TSX or Acura RDX (some form of luxury car). What is the reason for this? Why do wives get to drive luxury cars while the husband drives ordinary car? I should say some of them. Its not a problem though but was only curious. The neighbors are Asians actually.
- Is any luxury car worth it? I could buy a Mercedes with heated seats, fancy interior, and overall luxury. But is it really worth an extra 20k? Does it get me anything that a Honda doesn't?
- Good first luxury car for a 16 years old girl to drive to school? I'm turning 16 and I'm looking for a good luxury car around $20,000 to $ 45,000 range. No Honda, Toyota or all Asian cars please Oh and which of these do you think it's better? a) 2012 BMW 5 Series 528i b) 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class c) 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive35i?
- Do you think Genesis will ever gain the status as a true luxury brand? Nissan, Toyota, Honda & Volkswagen all have their luxury brands (Infiniti, Lexus, Acura, Audi) now that Hyundai is trying to enter that market with Genesis do you think they will ever achieve luxury status like these brands?
