Which car is a better investment?
I'm looking to buy either a 2019 Honda HRV (Sport) or Pre-certified used 2015 Lexus Nx 200
Whic car will last the longest and have less issues?
I feel that the Lexus (although older and cost more) may be the better bargain.
No one can predict the future. I would buy the Honda. The Lexus will be four years old.
Automobiles depreciate; they are not in any meaningful sense of the word "investments." Unless, of course, you think losing money is just swell.
That said, you're being perfectly reasonable in thinking that the Lexus might be a better deal, since the previous owner ate the biggest chunk of depreciation. The only problem here is that the NX is basically a RAV4 in a prom dress; if you're fine with a RAV4, I'd say go for it.
NO CAR IS AN INVESTMENT.
99.9% go DOWN in value. And the ones that might go up are not driven, they are stored inside.
Honda HRV
The HRV. The Nx is pretty close to the first year it came out. First year cars often have issues that get worked out in subsequent years. They have been making the HRV for a while, so that should be more reliable. I will say that both of those models have gotten critical reviews saying that they aren't a great value when compared to their platform partners. 'Why buy an HRV, when a CRV doesn't cost much more, and is better.' 'Why buy an NX, when an RX is better." Their arguments are that really they are giving you less of a vehicle, for nearly the same price. Just something to consider. I personally like cars in that size range a bit better, but CRVs and RXs are better cars than their in-between siblings.
They're both good. The Honda will initially depreciate more (because it's brand new). The 3-4yo Lexus has already taken the major hit. On the other hand the Honda comes with a full warranty, being new. Lexus is probably just out of warranty.
The HRV is a raised Honda Fit. Too slow and boring. Get the Lexus. It will still be running when Alabama bans college football.
Unless you're buying and storing a historically significant vehicle model or taking a chance on a possible future collector's vehicle, a vehicle is NOT an investment.
Personally I buy used vehicles ( 3-5 years old ) when I flip cars because I can buy them at less than half of what they cost when brand new and usually still get a very reliable vehicle for years to come.
Lexus and Honda are both at th top of the reliability rankings.
Buy the one you can afford, buy the one you like the most. Buy the one that offers a warranty if it does break down.
Honda, a new car. Only rare antique cars are an investment.
- Which car brands are better? I know Nissan, Toyota, and Hondas are good cars but also too expensive. I go to school full time and work part time so I need a car but don't want to buy a horrible car that will break down all the time. I was thinking of getting Chevy aveo, chevy cobalt, Chrysler pt cruiser, Kia rio or a hyundai Elantra something that doesn't cost too much which one is more of a reliable car
- Which Car Is Better Toyota Corolla 2003-07 Or Honda Civic 2004-06? Wanna Buy My First Cat In Next 2 Year I'm Currently 16 so i wanna know Which Car Is Better corolla 2003-07(1.3L/1.6L/1.8L/2.0 Diesel) or Honda Civic 2004-06(1.5/1.6L)?
- Which car is better of these options? 2014 Mazda 3 2.0, 2014 Honda Civic LX sedan, 2014 Dodge Dart Rallye 2.4? I want a car in this category. I will commute to work so i want to save on gas and at the same time the car must have the best sporty look. Which of those is the best bang for the buck and why? Thank you! Other suggestions that are in that 18-22k price range are welcomed as long as they are not expensive like volkswagen since they are german.
- Which car is better, toyota camry or honda accord if you plan to travel a lot? I'm trying to decide between the two. They look very similar. But in the end I would like a more reliable, stronger, resilient car that can withstand a lot of driving because I plan to travel with it. Which one is better quality and more resilient/stronger in the end?
