Why do people act like Honda is the greatest car ever?

I'm looking for a new car. Everyone keeps saying to get a Honda. People keep treating them like they're the best cars ever. I know so many people who have them and they're nothing but unreliable. They also have these ridiculous problems. Like leaking windows and many electrical problems. It really doesn't matter what car someone chooses. The only reliable car is one that is well taken care of. There are so many other cars that are more reliable and better looking. Why do people act like Honda is the best car ever?

"Everyone". You need to look the word up to find out what it means. It does not mean "some people" or "lots of people".

Statistically the most reliable car in the world.

I know a couple of car mechanics, and they told me that Honda has the least amount of break-downs compared to other cars. Those mechanics also told me that Honda is easier to work on and the price of the parts are cheaper.

You act like everybody on the whole planet has that opinion.
I never heard that in my neighborhood.
Where I live, its actually Mercedes having that title

It seems you know the wrong people. Honda regularly comes top of the reliability surveys in the UK.

Lol

Shuss

Don't know what "PEOPLE" you've been talking to, but there are many on THIS forum who will disagree with your statement. I've never owned a Honda car, so I can't comment from personal experience. Of course, neither have most of the people you are talking to.

Its not. But, for the money, good value. Best is best for you. The more you spend. The "better". A Rolls Royce or McLaren, are "better" and more reliable, but, poor values.

My one Honda ate a valve, But, I really shouldn't have assumed it was maintained and replaced the timing belt. Even Hondas require maintenance. Quote: "The only reliable car is one that is well taken care of"
Could that be Why you note leaking windows, etc? A couple summers out here e with no shade will rot any cars window stripping

. I like their motorcycles, though!

As far as: "easy to work on", All newer cars are HARD. Require code readers which can help or hurt, they don't always pinpoint problems. Sensors expensive, only older RWD like an '83 Tercel are "easy" ; and, these still require valve adjustment, hot.

Hondas are expensive and hold their values, like Subarus. And, Hondas are one of most often stolen, too.

Toyota, Mazda probably a better deal.
