Why is my 2006 Honda Metropolitan cutting out at full throttle?
When I give my moped full throttle and open it up all the way it just sounds bogged down plus the acceleration is terrible and I have to gradually give it has very slowly. We replaced the air cleaner, fuel filter, coolant, oil, put premium gas in it and also purchased some injector cleaner but it still does this. We thought it was the fuel filter but it hasn't changed it (very much). Any help is appreciated thanks in advance!
Dirt in jets… Best to have a bike shop clean to prevent damage. Should not cost more than fifty bucks!
It sounds like either the carburetor needs adjusting or cleaning. I'm not familar with that engine. When did it start doing this? Have you adjusted the carburetor? It has an automatic choke, is it working? If it has low and high speed jets turn the low speed jet out a quarter turn and see if that helps. Once it transitions from low to high rpm adjust the high speed jet. Premium gas won't make any difference if the engine is designed for lower octane. Injector clean may help but not often. If it can't be adjusted to run better a carburetor cleaning would be the next thing.
- Will buying a newer mower solve my issue with dying while cutting thicker grass? I have an older 6.5 hp Toro and it dies frequently going through tall or thick grass. I bought a brand new Toro with a 190cc 7.25 ft/lb. Torque engine and it had the same problem, perhaps more so. If I spend a little more money (about $400 more than the new Toro) and get the Honda HRX217VKA will it make a difference? It also has a 190cc engine but I've read that the Honda engines are much better.
- My 2006 Honda Metropolitan Moped is not running right? When I slowly give my moped gas it runs fine until I hit about full throttle, then it like starts to bog down, its hard to explain but we think its a carburetor problem. Due to the previous owner taking off then air cleaner for an unknown amount of time. If you can give me tips/advice I'd appreciate it.
- Would I need a motorcycle license to drive a Honda Metropolitan scooter in Florida? I've been looking into getting one. I also looked up the rules for scooters/mopeds in Florida, but it was a little confusing and I think the scooter I want surpassed some of the maximum requirements for being classified as a scooter/moped.
- My bike keeps bogging down at full throttle? 2004 Honda cbr 600rr 41k miles. I was on the highway after work and there were no car so I decided to hit top speed 155. Full throttle it got up to 120 and felt like it was bogging down. When i rolled off the throttle a little it started pulling and got up to 130 then i gave it full throttle again and it started bogging down and losing speed. Its an older bike and i don't really have the money to take it to the shop. Any ideas?
