Braking distance at 50 mph for a Honda accord?
Braking distance at 50 mph for a Honda accord?
You have to many unknown variables to give even a remotely accurate number. That car when new on dry pavement you are looking at the 120ft range thats for newer accords if it is older than 10 yrs it could be higher much higher like the 150ft area. Then if the car is used even a few years the condition of the tires, brakes, and brake system all have an impact. Then you have the road surface. Most of these test are done on near ideal dry little if any loose material type testing conditions. You take that same car as tested on a old asphalt country road you may gain another 20-30 ft. So in short my guess if the car is in good shape on a dry fairly good road 110-120ft.
Hell no, I've passed my written test fifty plus years ago…
The book value is
50 squared divided by 20 plus 50 = 175 but these days only SUVs are that bad and a car with good tyres will stop much quicker.
- 2000 rear brakes on odyssey van knock when braking? I recently changed the rear drum brakes with new shoes and drums on my 2000 Honda Odyssey Van and now they knock when I apply the brakes. The noise matches the rotational speed of the tires as if something is on the tires.
- My honda overheats above 65 mph? So, I bought this car a week ago. It was sitting in a garage for about a year. It has 135k on a rebuilt motor. It has the d15b1 motor. It's a 1989 civic ef hatchback. Question being; whenever I'm on the highway or going up a hill, even I my car doesn't have allt of weight and I go to pass, the motor goes hot. Would this sound like a thermostat? I'm running water in it right now.
- Is it normal for a 2011 Honda civic to have loud wind/rattling noises at about 65 MPH? I'm test driving a 2011 Civic. I like the way it drives, but I took it on the highway and when it reaches 65 mph it makes a loud noise it sounds like wind blowing through the left side of the car. The faster I go the louder it sounds. Is that normal. I have been driving the dealer crazy for over a week now.
- 2014 Honda Civic LX high rpm (upper 4,000) at 60 mph. Normal or not? I recently bought a used Honda Civic with 39,000 miles on it and just realized that it has very high rpms at around 60 mph. I did some research but only found topics on this regarding many transmission and Si Honda civics. Considering this is my first Honda, can anyone shed any light into whether this is normal or not?
