Is replacing a radiator expensive?
My neighbor is selling his 2003 Honda Civic because it has a broken radiator. He already has another car. He says he can only drive it a few miles before it overheats. I told him I know a mechanic who might be able to fix it. He said he would just give me the car if I can fix the radiator.
If it has been overheated the head gasket is blown, those are very fragile to blowing the gasket and that is why he is giving it away.
This year of Civics are well known for blown head gaskets and cracked blocks. Often times people spend a lot of money on the head gasket repair only to find out that the block is bad. The radiator is probably fine, run fast and far away from this deal.
- After replacing our car battery, our remote starter just turns and turns without actually starting the car? My wife has a 2010 Honda Fit and we just had to replace the battery. We got a remote starter installed from Best Buy in either 2010 or 2011. But after the recent battery replacement, the remote starter responds by just cranking and not starting. It does like three sets of cranking before stopping. I don't remember the brand of remote starter, but anyone have any insight of what I need to do?
- Where is/are the jack point(s) on the engine in a '97 Honda CR-V, for replacing the engine and trans mounts? When replacing engine mounts in any vehicle, one step is to lift the engine slightly. On my '97 Honda CR-V, the bottom side of the engine appears to be mostly obscured by the oil pan. (Of course, trying to use the pan would result in disaster.) Images would be great… Detailed images with arrows, etc, would ROCK!
