I have a 2012 Honda CRV that has 40% oil left. Will I make it back from Northern VA to FL and back?

Check the oil level and top off prior to the trip. It'll be ready for and oil change when you come back home and it won't do any harm to the engine. I have two repair shops and you would not believe what kind of mileage I've seen between oil change. Yours still show 40% so most of the trip will be highway miles.
See my answer to another member about oil change on newer Honda vehicle:
Have a good and safe trip. HTH
Hi why would any one be so dumb to try running the risk of destroy an engine just for a few dollars of engine oil.
Umm, top up the oil? It not like it's expensive.
It will be fine
That is 40% life remaining, it does not really mean that there's only 40% of oil remaining in the car.
That starts at 100% when the oil is fresh, and it winds down to zero as you drive your car, it just means that the oil is getting dirty and when the % goes close to zero, then its time to replace the oil.
You'll be fine even if it goes down to zero
The reading is for the "life of the oil" and NOT the oil level.
You still need to check the level in the engine with the dipstick under the hood.
You can make the drive, just change the oil when the journey is done.
Never look at the oil change reminder. Always change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles. If the oil is black on the dipstick you've been waiting too long between oil changes. I'd change the oil before a long trip! Why take any chances? You can get the oil change done for $30.
- 2004 Honda Pilot! I did an oil change today check the manual for the engine oil capacity, it is 4.8 liters and put 4.4 liters and add .5 ltr? Total engine oil put is 4.9 liters and I'm surprised the dipstick is above the second hole by 10mm. Is it overfill or do i need to remove some?
- What tire size do you have on your 2012 Honda CRV? I have the original equipment size which is 215/70R16. I'm thinking about putting a 225/65R17 or 225/60R18. I did a comparison online (tirerack.com) and looked at the pictures online. It both looks great, but hard for me to decide. Which do you think it's best for me
- I can't find a 2012-14 Honda CRV or a 2013-15 Toyota RAV4 online that is < 15k, has < 50k miles and was never damaged or in an accident? A couple of weeks ago, my car (a 2009 crv) got totaled in an accident and am looking for a small, reliable suv (that has the same cargo space as my old car) so I've came across these two vehicles on various websites. Insurance gave my family ~9,000 for the automobile. Does anybody know if and how I can find one offline or for much less money based on my criteria?
- Oil Change: Honda Motor Oil Vs Generic oil, does it make a difference? I have been getting oil changes with Honda motor oil for 15 years on my 2002 civic that now has 132K miles. If I switch to a generic $10 oil change garage shop will it still be ok? I know the Honda filters are better then the cheapest generic ones but how about the actual motor oil?
