Your heater core is in your center of your dash, so most likely extreme heat from that.

Hi as my guess is the system has a leak the heater matrix which is in the middle of the dashboard is ware things sometimes go wrong. Time to cal out a Honda dealer to haul it off and give you an estimate as a repair might be very expensive.

In August 15, 2006 Honda Issued a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) about the water pump's bearing failure on all 2002-2006 CR-V

Service Bulletin 06-054:

SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS: The engine growls when running.

PROBABLE CAUSE: The water pump bearing is faulty.

DIAGNOSIS: Use Electronic chassis ear, If the microphone is picking up a growling noise from the water pump. Replace the water pump.

What have you checked? The AC buttons or the radio has nothing to do with the overheat problem. How do you know that the CR-V is overheated?

Have you checked the coolant level? Does the engine loosing coolant? There are two cooling fans for the cooling system. Take a look at the cooling system illustration I've included below and check all those things in the entire cooling system. Get some professional help if you do not know how.

Or you can Email me, the address is on the illustration page below. I shall then guide you how to diagnosis procedure. If you are handy with car repair and have the tooling to do it. The address is in RED color. You can't miss it. Or it's next to my profile. Click on my avatar to see.
