Hankook Optimo tires: Are they any good?

Hankook Optimo tires: Are they any good? - 1

Added (1). I got new tires at the Honda dealership today. Yesterday they quoted me a price of $415, so I got them today. I thought they were replacing the Dunlops with Dunlops, then I got home and noticed they are Hankook. The size is 175/65 R15. Should I gp back and ask them what is going on?

Added (2). H426

Hankook is a good brand. But all tire makers offer different grades of tires.

Hankook Tire makes several models of the Optimo. Unfortunately, the Optimo H426 is not one of their better offerings. The Optimo H426 is rated poorly in very critical categories such as wet traction, hydroplaning resistance, tread wear, and ride comfort. They rank 33 out of 35 within the Grand Touring All-Season tire category.

If you are looking for a quality tire, which is still economical, in your needed size of 175/65R15 the General AltiMAX RT43 would be the best quality choice. Cost of the AltiMax is nearly identical to that of the H426.
