2 stroke scooter just stopped running?
I ride a 2001 honda elite. I was simply riding down the street and the scooter just shut off out of nowhere. The battery is pretty new so I'm not thinking that is the issue. Only thing I could think of would be that it is out of oil. The scooter has a built in pump that mixes the oil and gas for you so I'm hoping that is the only issue since I can't even remember the last time I had to put oil in it. Does that sound right or could it be something else.
If you are lucky the scooter has a safety device that shuts down the ignition when the mixing oil is low. If not, and you ran out of oil, the engine is probably seized (major repair) Good Luck.
Or it could be another problem with the ignition and safety switches altogether.
Are you that dumb that you can't look in the tank? It's people like you that really help the economy, you now need to buy a new China made scooter and the junk man stays busy selling your scrap, good job.
Well look in the oil tank, is there any oil?
The worst is that without oil it has seized, blown a hole in a piston and spread metal throughout the engine. It can be rebuilt they are fairly simple but it will cost you.
But it could be something as simple as a loose connection, a fouled or whispered plug - basically you need a mechanic to diagnose it and get a quote for the work.
2 stroke engines foul spark plugs when they ware out.
The cylinder compression isn't strong enough to burn the oil that is mixed with the gasoline.
Your bike might just need a new spark plug.
Remove it and check to see if it is sparking.
- Would a 125cc 4 stroke scooter be able to keep up with a 125cc sports bike? I'm thinking of getting a Sym Jet 4 125cc, and my friend rides a Honda CBR 125, we re riding about 3 hours down to the Bulldog Bash, would my scooter be powerful enough to keep up with him? And cruise comfortably at about 60mph? Long and short. How much of an advantage/disadvantage are gears when it comes to acceleration and speed.
- Is the honda 250r four stroke or two stroke? So i've found out that r stands for race… Most other bikes have either f or t for two stroke or four. So is the honda 250 a four stroke or a two stroke bike? Or is it neither?
- How to drain 2 stroke oil and gas out of a 2 stroke fuel tank? I accidentally threw in low quality 2 stroke oil in my honda cr125 2002 and I've been told It could really harm my bike… All I want to know is how to drain all the gas with the 2 stroke oil out of my bike? Please no hate comments!
- Can a 4 stroke dirtbike be ran wide open? Ok, so I have a Honda CR 85 (bored out to a 100) and A Honda CRF 100. I was just wondering if the CRF could be ran wide open in its top gear? Its a stupid question but yeah. I know 2 strokes can like my CR but 4 strokes are made more for off road so I was just wondering.
