1994 honda accord won't start? - 1

IT All STARTED ONE DAY WHEN I PARK ON THE PARKING LOT AND WHEN I COME BACK TO TURN IT ON IT WON't START. I KEEP ON TRYING AND THEN GIVE UP, AFTER 10 MIN IT TURNS ON. THEN IT NEVER GAVE ME THAT PROBLEM FOR A WEEK UNTIL I WAS DRIVINIG AND THE ENGINE TURN ON AND THEN IT I KEPT PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THEN IT TURN ON WHILE DRIVING. THEN IT JUST KEPT NOT TURNING ON AND I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT 20-30 MIN. THEN ONE DAY IT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND I HAD TO PARK IT CAUSE IT WON't TURN BACK ON AND LATER ON THAT DAY I TURNED IT ON AND IT WORKED. AFTER THAT IT JUST KEPT GIVING ME THAT PROBLEM. NOW IT IS JUST SITTING ON THE PARKING LOT BECAUSE IT DOESN't WANT TO START AT ALL. I CHANGE THE IGNITION COIL AND IT DIDN't WORK. I Really DON't KNOW WHAT TO DO Please Help.

First fix your caps lock, it seems to be stuck on.

Then make an appointment with your mechanic to look at your car, and ask him which towing company he prefers. Give that company a call and get it towed to your mechanic and find out what's wrong rather than throw parts and money at it trying to make it work by yourself.

First you need to check if its gas related or fire to the spark plugs related… I typicaly pull off one of the spark plug wires from the spark plug and put a screw driver in it and hold it to the frame or some thing metal while another person cranks the engine over… It should spark if your getting fire to the plugs but you want to test this while it won't start. One of those times that you can't get the engine to start.

if its gas related then its probably the fuel pump relay. They also go bad in the same way as a coil, they can work sometimes and sometimes not. It just kills power to the fuel pump when it decides not to work.

I suppose it could be a clogged up fuel filter having trouble getting gas through. When it won't start turn they key on but don't crank the engine over… Wait about 30 seconds then turn key off for 30 seconds then turn key back on again… Do that two to 3 times before trying to start the engine to see if its fuel filter related.

you need to narrow it down more. Gas or spark related. I'm really leaning towards the fuel pump relay cause it is a common part to go out in these Hondas and the 94 chevy s10… I've replaced over 20 of them I no of. Also might be good idea to inspect the basics like the distributor cap and rotor button

Dunno what causes it, but be quiet, listen for the humm of the fuel pump. Don't even bother cranking till you hear the fuel system working. Turn the key on and off till you here that fuel pump.
daughter totaled hers before i could troubleshoot.
i got a thumb, but i know this problem. Cost me a new fuel pump that didn't fix the problem. Also don't believe your injectors are pulsing as well. Like i said i didn't get a chance to troubleshoot.

  • My 1983 Honda nighthawk 650 won't start with the electric start? I recently replaced the ignition coils because the old ones were getting heat soaked and the bike would die, however now the bike won't start with the electric start it turns over fin and the starter sounds fine but it won't start occasionally it ll start when it's cold or try to but I've been having to bump start it in order to ride it. So what's making it do this? Could it be the kill switch? Or something else?
  • I have a Honda HRX217 push mower. Backfired when trying to start it, now it won't start? It was running, then I shut it off to open and close a gate, and when I went to start it again there was a really loud backfire and now it won't start. It will sound like it's almost about to start but not. Then get progressively weaker each pull. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas?
  • I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect? I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect. I did a compressin test, the pull start only gets the mower to 60psi but the drill gets the mower to 150psi. This mower does have a decompression vale where the ehaust opest about 1/8 of the way. I tore the ead off and checked and cleaned the valves. They don't stick open. Could there be an issue with the decompression valve? Or would it be the piston rings?
  • Why won't my 1994 honda civic start? Just did a tune up. Now the car cranks but won't fire. Changed plugs, cables, distributor cap and rotor. Can anyone help?
