2012 Honda accord, does it have a timing chain or belt?

I was wondering if a honda accord 2012 LX 2.4L I4 sedan would have a timing belt or timing chain?

been looking around online but nothing comes up

It has a chain. Look at your owner's manual. If it does not mention a timing belt replacement, it has a chain.

It's a timing chain. For any engine, look at the cover behind the serpentine belt or the auxiliary belts. If the cover is plastic it is there to keep dirt and oil of a timing belt. If it is metal, it is there to keep oil on and dirt off a timing chain.

Hi so this is why it needs to go see a Honda dealer. Chains become sloppy and need changing belts become loose and likely to slip sometimes both wreck engines.

Open the hood and look at the engine cover behind the drive belts. If it's plastic you have a timing belt. If it's metal you have a timing chain.
That's how to tell on every motor.
