How much longer do you believe my car will last me? (Very good running old car)?
I've had my car for a little more than three years. It's a Honda accord 1997. It has 18841 miles to this day. It never had no major problems. My only concern is how it is eating up/leaking oil. My dad helps me keep up on my tires, brake shoes, ect. But everywhere i park ii leaves oil spots underneath my car. But other than that I've never had it break down or nothing. A couple of odd noises here and there but no noises lately. I'm just wanting someone else's opinion.
I suggest having a mechanic check out the oil leak. At the age it well could be no more than a gasket, the valve cover gasket is a good possibility and relatively inexpensive.
As for the mileage, its barely broken in. Even if it really is 10 times more the engine should still be fine as long as it has had its routine maintenance. Honda makes good cars and the Accord is one of their better models.
Follow the maintenance schedule in your Owners Manual and routinely check the hoses, wiring, tires, and anything else that can wear and you should be fine for a lot more years.
One more point: The 4 cylinder engine is the better option.
The oil leak may be the oil pressure warning light sending unit leaking.
All Honda motors develop tight valves and the valves need to be adjusted every 60,000 miles. I'd get them adjusted if you haven't done them.
Keep changing the oil and filter every 3,000 miles!
When you going to have a heart attack
Take it to a mechanic and ask where it's leaking. Could be a simple repair that you are fretting over.
- Why are those Harley Davidson motorcycles very popular among old people? Usually, I see young people riding Honda or Kawasaki kind of motorcycles. But there are many old men who ride Harley Davidson stuff. Why do those young people prefer those fast bikes and old people like those Harley Davidson stuff?
- What car is better and will last longer? Mazda 6 '08 vs Honda Civic '06? I currently have a Honda 06 with about 104,000 miles on it and my mom said I can either keep my Honda or take her Mazda 6 with around 80,000 miles on it. Now I know that the Mazda has less mileage but I hear that Hondas will last forever. I want my car to last me for at least a couple more years maybe 10 if I'm lucky. I don't drive far at all either. What car is a better choice for the long run?
