I have a 1996 Honda Accord EX Wagon. It will start (Sometimes) but will not stay running?

I have had the fuel pump checked. Spark Plugs and wires replaced. I have had a few people look at it and they are all stumped.

Have you checked the actual fuel pressure when it quits running? Or when it does quit will it start right back up and run okay just will not idle? What is the fuel pressure? This video will show you how with an inexpensive fuel pressure tester you can buy from your local auto part store:

You need to check for malfunction codes? This requires a inexpensive code reader that you can purchase for less than $50. Here in the USA most Autozone or Advance auto-part stores provide free code reads as a courtesy. Anytime the check engine light comes on while the vehicle is running it will set a code in the memory. So, was there any code(s)? What is it?

If the problem is not related to fuel pump and fuel filter, then in that case, typically starting up and stalling or not idling has something to do with the idle air control motor. Carbon has a tendency to buildup around the throttle body plate and bore and then down inside this idle speed control motor. I've also seen issues with these motors being bad. Some minor problems with throttle position sensors.

Now on Honda in the same era, the two most notorious failure to start causes are the Main relay and the Ignition switch: See these links/ videos:

It could be in the ignition system like loosing spark, this video will help to diagnose for the cause:

Edit: Hope it help. Having more questions or need more help? E mail me. Happy to help.

If you have not replaced the fuel filter- do so.
There might be excessive water in the tank- so put some "gasoline antifreeze" in the tank.
If you have installed a cold air intake or for some other reason the air flow sensor is not registering air flow this can result in an engine shut down. So check all of the vacuum lines and air intake runners for tight fitting and damage.
