Is $ 1,200 too much to replace the front pads/calipers/rotors and rear drums/shoes on a 2004 honda accord?

Sounds maybe a little high, but you said calipers also, so that is not going to be cheap. But then I do question why the calipers needs to be replaced, they do go bad but not very often and not uncommon to last the life of a car.
That's normal for a dealer because they mark up the cost of materials 300 percent and the labor is very high. You would save money by buying the parts yourself and taking the vehicle to a private mechanic.
Yes way to much
You do NOT need new CALIPERS< they are pulling your LEG here! OLDER HONDAS would need this! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE and get better advice! You may not even need All brakes parts they are telling you here! They are MAKING THINGS UP to charge you MORE than you need to spend! Get a BRAKE FLUID power flush done FIRST! Go to a HONDA dealership and get these parts YOURSELF! They are NOT that costly! YOU ARE GETTING ROBBED by a PRO!
Um dude that is too much money that's enough to get a brembo big brake kit. Go somewhere else, go to a Honda dealership to inspect your brakes.
Looking up OEM parts here, http://www.hondaacuraonline.com/auto-parts/2004/honda/accord-sedan/dx-trim/5-speed-automatic-engine/chassis-cat/front-brake-1-scat, the price seems to be about right. I question the need for calipers though.
Thanks to all for your feedback this has been very helpful.

- On a scale 1-10 how hard is it to replace a front wheel drive cars axle? And how much for a mechanic? I have a 1998 Honda Civic that's needs it's front axle replaced. How much (ballpark) would it be to fix it at a mechanic? And also how hard is it for the mechanic to fix it?
- Best rear brake shoes for my 97 Honda Civic HX? I have a 97 civic HX and need to change by rear brake shoes and drums. I was thinking about getting brembo drums and self adjusting hardware kit for each side but I'm looking for the shoes and I wanted to know the best kind I could buy that s built with great quality parts and could compare to ceramic brake pads. I need one that has good stopping power.
- Is 200,000+ miles too many to consider for a used Honda, Toyota, etc? I have been trying to find something like an Accord, Civic, Corolla, or Camry for $3000 or less. Something reliable to get me around town within 30 mile drives. Many in this range have 220,000 or so miles, though I have found 1 or 2 with high 100's. Is the 200k miles a psychological barrier or should I even consider a car with such high mileage?
