Should my car have remote central locking?

Hi all i've recently purchased a honda accord 1.8year 1999! It only came with one key (I need to as soon as possible get another key ( although i'm not sure if its a chipped key or not! My question is should it also have remote central locking? Can anyone tell me if there's a way of finding this out and if it should have a remote fob where can I purchase one from and what would the procedure be for programming the remote/ remotes

I would expect it to have a chip to work with an immobilizer. Go to any Big supermarket and they can read the chip and supply a spare key.
Unless there's a problem when you Lock/Unlock the Drivers door with the key that should also operate the Alarm and Central Locking if fitted. My 1999 Corsa does not so you can check the hand book and see if there's a fuse in the position for Central Locking, If not probably not fitted

  • Is programming a remote for a car hard? I ordered a new remote for my 98 Honda after losing mine. I ordered online and it comes with instructions. Will this be hard to program? Do I need to program all my remotes at the same time or just the new one?
  • After replacing our car battery, our remote starter just turns and turns without actually starting the car? My wife has a 2010 Honda Fit and we just had to replace the battery. We got a remote starter installed from Best Buy in either 2010 or 2011. But after the recent battery replacement, the remote starter responds by just cranking and not starting. It does like three sets of cranking before stopping. I don't remember the brand of remote starter, but anyone have any insight of what I need to do?
  • CR V Mk 1 central locking issues? I have issues with my Honda CR V mk1 1999. When locking with the key only the drivers side locks. I have to lock all the other door from the inside afterwards. When I turn the key to unlock all doors unlock. If I lock all doors from the inside before I shut the drivers door they unlock when I close it. Anyone got any ideas what is wrong, needs replacing etc? Cheers Neil
  • Car door lock I press the switch and I hear clicking but there's no response far as locking or unlocking Is it the door lock actuator or door lock relay? I aiming towards the door lock actuator. If it is do that mean that I have to get fixed on both sides. I only have one door switch. I have 2001 Honda civic hx
