Where do I even start? Fixing scratched paint on my red Honda Accord Coupe?
So my coworker pranked me by putting a stupid sticker that he printed on the back of my car. Then it was removed with a dish-washing sponge with dish detergent. I know, the dumbest thing I ever heard.
Anyways, I have no idea where to even begin to fix it. It just looks like a dull spot, I'm not sure if it's considered as a "base-coat/primer scratch" or "clear-coat scratch". What kind of kit should I buy to help me get started on attempting to fix this myself? (will add picture soon!)
Added (1). I already know the color code (R-94)
Without a good picture I can't be sure but I'm surprised that a sponge and diswashing liquid did the kind of damage you describe other than take the wax off unless it was one of those scrubber sponges. I suspect it just dulled the clearcoat. You can try a liquid scratch remover like Meguiar's/ScratchX 2.0 swirl remover. Apply it with a wax pad. Its a mild abrasive and you won't risk overdoing it. There are many more professional products you can buy out there as well but you have to know how to use them. Basically you need to use something with mild enough abrasive in polish out those scratches. Do not attempt to wetsand it out. You will likely make it worse unless you know what your doing. Take swing by a body shop for advice or maybe to a auto detailer who washes and details cars. They should also be able to give you advice or even do it for you.
- Should I paint over a bad tear in my bumper, or order a new one and have the mechanics install it then have them paint it? I recently bought a used 1997 Honda Prelude. It's red and badly sun faded and has a bad tear on the rear bumper. I was wondering whether I should just have it painted over or order a whole new bumper and have the people at the shop install it and paint it for me. Any suggestions?
- Badly scratched headlight light on a 2010 Honda Pilot EX? So I'm a son who loved cars but I kinda messed up on my mom headlight while cleaning it. It is a All-Wheel-Drive 3.5 liter 6 cylinder 2010 Honda Pilot EX and it had millions of tiny scratches all over both front headlight lens. I had a auto towel and headlight cleaning and clean it with no soft cloth so it kinda made many scratches after a while it was clean. Can you guys help me to repair this damage? What product best fit this category to help repair this?
- I have a 1996 Honda Shadow ACE. It won't start even though the battery is charged. What can I do? I just got the battery charged and the bike still won't start. I can hear it trying but it just won't catch. I know very little about engines but could it be the fuel pump or carburetor that needs to be cleaned or replaced. If so, how do I do that?
- Honda big red won't start after no oil in it? I have a Honda big red fourtrax 250, 2007 I think. I ran with no oil in (didn't check oil) and it cut out. I immediately put oil in and it won't start back up. There's a spark and petrol getting to it. I have cleand carb and and put a bit petrol into wer the spark plug is going. The lights flash wen touching wires so could it be an electrical fault?
