2008 Honda Civic possible transmission issue?
All of a sudden today my car wouldn't start at first, then on a 2nd attempt it started (with difficulty). It also has the check engine light on and the D (drive indicator on dash) has a flashing light next to it. I keep reading this is due to a transmission problem. Possible low fluid? But does transmission have anything to do with the trouble starting? The car was fine a few days ago when I drove it last.
You will get the best info from bringing it down to your local autozone, advanced auto parts, orileys auto parts, ect… And have them run a code scanner on it. They will do this for free. And then you will at lest have someplace to start.

- What transmission fluid TYPE does a 2008 Honda Civic lx 1.8l take? Everywhere I search people just give the same generic answer "amsoil atf" "I use synthetic atf" "conventional is just fine" and that's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the dextron/Mercon or h rating or specific type of atf these use. I'll be choosing synthetic anyways, just need to know the type (and how many quarts to buy)
