Can a family with low income and get benefits from the government get a 3rd car?

My mom said that a family with low income can't buy a 3rd car because the government will take away your heath insurance, benefits, and etc…
i want to buy this honda civic $11,000
i was gonna split it with my parents and pay half!
but they said i have to see if this is true or not… Help

Well here's an option. You could just work and help get your family out of the low income mindset. Don't let their mindset of intentionally gimping themselves just to keep collecting hold you back in life. If you want the car, earn the money and buy the car.

Depending on what state you're in and if you receive Food Stamps/ SSI/ Housing assistance etc. But the answer is most likely NO - You can't own a 3rd car and the 11k value would be too high to allow you to keep your benefits.

If you can pay cash for the Honda & it's a good deal, do it. The car is YOUR asset, not your mom's. Get out of the poverty mindset. Keep working hard & making yourself better every day.

So use the money you have and buy a $5000 car on your own.

Wow. Uh, there's people out there with much lesser who really need those benefits.

consider that for the holidays.

Btw - i have a incoming job… I work at the mall, and i live in delaware

If your family is on welfare, you can't have more than $3000 in total assets excluding a car but to buy a car you would have to have a down payment and that counts.

  • Which income category do I fall into? 40 year old male. I only have about $9000 in my bank account. Drive a Honda SUV. Income, depends on the gig because I have my own office. Am I a low income, middle class or high class? I'm getting $3000-$4000 a month without any benefits like health insurance or dentals. I live in North California.
  • Small family car for learning to drive? Hi, I was wanting some help to do with what car to buy. The basic rundown is that I'm wanting a car a 17 year old can learn to drive in, so there's the obvious of low insurance, safety and reliability etc. It needs five seats as it will also be used as a general family car and can be up to about £6000. I have been looking around and so far am leaning towards the Honda Jazz, but any advice on the subject would be very much appreciated.
  • Are me and my family paying too much for auto insurance? Our total every 6 months is $2,055. I'm 20 years old and drive a 2015 Silverado LTZ V8 crew cab truck and my mom drives a honda pilot 2015. We're paying about $343 a month on car insurance is that too high for a 20 year old and a 46 year old?
  • Which three-row family vehicle should we get? - 1 A new 2018 Honda Odyssey or, within the same budget, a used 2017 Lincoln Navigator? The Odyssey would be a new body style but the Navigator would be the "old" body style as the new one just came out in 2018. But would it still be cooler than the Odyssey? Or does the practicality of the Odyssey outweigh the better looks/image of an SUV? We have young kids and do lots of hauling people around.
