How to replace (remove) a broken ignition cylinder without it being on 1 in order to be pulled out?
My Honda Civic 97 automatic was recently stolen and recovered but my ignition cylinder was damaged. My key won't enter all the way but my open door sound goes off as if there was contact with the key. The cylinder won't turn in order for me to be able to remove it. Any valuable information is great appreciated, thank you
Have a professional do it. The average shadetree mechanic (you) can't do it.
Get a new cylinder on e-bay, & it will come with the directions on how to drill-out the old one.
- I have a Honda GSV 190 mower engine with a broken starter rope and stud stuck in starter that I can't remove. Any ideas would be great When removing the nuts holding the recoil starter in place the nut on the front of the starter is stuck. When I try to remove it the whole stud come out of the engine. Leaving the engine cover stuck to the starter preventing me from replacing the rope. I have tried everything I can think of to remove it with no luck.
