How to tell if a turbo charger is good or not and what difference will it make?

I want to turbo charge my 1999 honda civic ex sedan with an automatic transmission

You will make the car go faster by using more gas into the engine and allowing more air into the intake

I'd think carefully about doing it. Most people get way over their head with such a project, and to turbo a stock engine without spending some serious dough is asking for trouble and disappointment. It's very easy to over-boost a stock engine and destroy it in short order, not to mention all the other things that you need to get right. Read this and decide for yourself, http://www.quora.com/Forced-Induction/What-is-the-proper-way-to-implement-an-aftermarket-turbo, but I suggest that you hang on to your money and save up for a factory turbo-charged car.

  • Oil Change: Honda Motor Oil Vs Generic oil, does it make a difference? I have been getting oil changes with Honda motor oil for 15 years on my 2002 civic that now has 132K miles. If I switch to a generic $10 oil change garage shop will it still be ok? I know the Honda filters are better then the cheapest generic ones but how about the actual motor oil?
