I think my rotors are broken, how much to fix them?
I have a 2003 Honda Civic. When I break sometimes the car moves back and forth and the steering wheel moves back and forth when I'm driving. I'm pretty sure it's the rotors but not 100% sure. Anyone know what it could be and if it is the rotors how much it could cost?
You need to go to a qualified mechanical to get a quote, sometimes your rotors can be "turned" thus letting you reuse them, so prices could vary greatly. So as a ballpark guess $250 - $450 depending, more if your calipers are failing too.
Well actually there's fixing broken rotors. Many places including Mechanic shops and parts stores can have the rotors resurfaced which grinds on the rotor in a machine to make them smooth again. If its cheaper than replacing the rotors then it is worth just resurfacing them otherwise just replace them.
Rotors for a car are usually about $25 each, resurfacing prices may vary, quote both and do what's cheaper
Go to NAPA parts. Enter yr, make, model, "brake Rotors".
There's no such thing as "fixing" broken rotors. They need to be replaced.

Any ideas on other ways to trouble shoot the issue?! Suggestions welcomed!
