Is it possible to swap a d16a sohc long block into a 1998 Honda Civic Dx coupe?

My d16y7 engine got hydrolocked and I hace not yet found another engine so I plan to swap a d16a engine instead. Is it possible? What do I need?

It's a lot more works to install a D16A. Can you install an older engine into your 6th gen. Civic? Is it legal in your state?
The following engine will fit much better:
1. B18C1: Completely bolt-in swap, VTEC needs to be wired.
2. B16A2: Completely bolt in swap, VTEC needs to be wired.
3. B16A3: Completely bolt-in swap, VTEC needs to be wired, OBD Conversion.
4. B18C5: Completely bolt-in swap, VTEC needs to be wired.
5. B18B1: Completely bolt-in swap.
6. B16B: Completely bolt-in swap, VTEC needs to be wired.
7. H22A: Mount kit required, Hasport shift linkage, VTEC needs to be wired.
8. D16Z6: Completely bolt-in, OBD conversion, VTEC needs to be wired.
9. D16Y8: Completely bolt-in, VTEC needs to be wired.

Yes! All D series are same mounts and tranny bolts… All direct fit… BUT DON't SWAP ANOTHER SINGLE CAM… GO B18

I had an blown motor on my 1998 Honda Civic LX, I have new spark plugs, distributor cap and some other items, however, since the old spark plugs happened to be melted as well, I have no option other to do a engine swap. I've been doing some research, and it seems like I only have the 1.6L engine as a option. By the way, the blown motor is a D16Y8, and is automatic.

I wanna swap in a K20A3 into my EM2. I've been doing some research and my car is a 4 speed automatic. And the K20 is 5 speed automatic.
