My 98 Honda won't start in hot weather?

I have a 98 honda civic LX my car won't start when its warm weather i have had it tuned up and replaced the ignition coil and distributor still didn't fix problem… When it does start it will cut off after driving a couple feet or if i'm sitting at a stop light what could be the issue?

I've had cars and trucks die or refuse to restart after being parked during hot weather. Fixed
it each time by cleaning the battery connections on the battery and cables. For some reason those developed a layer of oxidation between those which cut-off the current flow. I cleaned those with a small brass brush.
Another possibility would be a loose / dirty ground connection(s) near the battery on the radiator bulkhead. Those will be black wires attached to a round connector held by a hex head screw. Those can get rusted or oxidized between the ring and bulkhead which blocks the current from going to ground to complete the circuts for devices that make the motor run.
Then there's the fuel pump. It could be sticking periodically or has a poor connection somewhere, like on the relay inside the motor compartment. The owners manual in the glove box should show where it's located. You should hear the relay click then the fuel pump operating when the key is first turned to ON. If you don't then a quick check for fuel pressure is to press down the pin inside the Schrader valve on the fuel manifold. It looks like a tire valve. If gas comes out then the filter and pressure regulator should be Ok along with the pump and relay.
While under the hood check out all the vacuum lines for cracks and the wiring to the sensors for chaffing against metal parts along with their connectors being snugly fitted.

Synch your just throwing parts on it try the tempter switch for the computer for cold starts

  • My 1983 Honda nighthawk 650 won't start with the electric start? I recently replaced the ignition coils because the old ones were getting heat soaked and the bike would die, however now the bike won't start with the electric start it turns over fin and the starter sounds fine but it won't start occasionally it ll start when it's cold or try to but I've been having to bump start it in order to ride it. So what's making it do this? Could it be the kill switch? Or something else?
  • I have a Honda HRX217 push mower. Backfired when trying to start it, now it won't start? It was running, then I shut it off to open and close a gate, and when I went to start it again there was a really loud backfire and now it won't start. It will sound like it's almost about to start but not. Then get progressively weaker each pull. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas?
  • I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect? I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect. I did a compressin test, the pull start only gets the mower to 60psi but the drill gets the mower to 150psi. This mower does have a decompression vale where the ehaust opest about 1/8 of the way. I tore the ead off and checked and cleaned the valves. They don't stick open. Could there be an issue with the decompression valve? Or would it be the piston rings?
  • 2004 honda civic takes long time to start in cold weather? So I'm a 17 year old boy and for my first car I got a 2004 Honda civic and its a really good car actually. But lately its been Really cold out. It sits outside at home and in the morning when I leave for school I can warm it up and all, but after I get out of school I come out and leave right away and sometimes it takes a little bit to turn over.
