Start car and dashboard lights come off then everything turns off?
To begin, my car wouldn't start about 3 weeks ago so I had a friend jumpstart me. I was worried it was the battery so I got someone at Advanced Auto-parts to give me one of those free battery readings. It got a "good" rating, I don't know if maybe it wasn't totally accurate or not. But last night I drove it to a friends house and back. I went into my house for about an hour and came back out to start it up again. The dashboard lights turned on for about a second then everything turned completely off. Then I tried to start it back up again and everything is black. I waited another hour to restart it and when I did the cigarette light came on for second but not the dashboard lights. What could this be? It is a honda civic 2003 with 130k on it. The only problem I've had with the car is a blown head gasket that I've had for awhile. Other than that it's been fine up until this point.
I would look at the battery or the battery cables. If they are corroded, it can cause weird electrical issues
- After replacing our car battery, our remote starter just turns and turns without actually starting the car? My wife has a 2010 Honda Fit and we just had to replace the battery. We got a remote starter installed from Best Buy in either 2010 or 2011. But after the recent battery replacement, the remote starter responds by just cranking and not starting. It does like three sets of cranking before stopping. I don't remember the brand of remote starter, but anyone have any insight of what I need to do?
- Check engine light turns on for a few days and then turns off for weeks/months? Code P0420 on a 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid? Over the last year my check engine light has come on about 3 or 4 times for a few days at a time and then turns off again for a very long period of time. I know the code means my catalytic converter is below threshold but why would it turn off? Could it be something else? Should I look into replacing it or wait it out? Any advice is appreciated!
- Car ran fine then wouldn't start, got a jump, now everything is fine again. What happened? '03 Honda Civic. Last 30 mins of work I sat in my car with the A/C on full blast and radio on, like I do everyday (and of course the car is running). I stopped at Subway after work. The car was parked for 10 mins. After the car would not start but the radio and dash board lights would come on, but it would not crank. Got a jump from AAA. Afterwards Auto Zone tested the battery and alternator, both passed. I has been a week now and no problems. What the heck could have happened?
- Car ac turns off and then just blows? My car ac is really cold and then just blows. I need help. Recently charged to weight spec for honda. 06 honda civic 1.8L not too sure if its moisture or something.
