Wheel bearing. Which side?
I have a 2004 Honda civic LX and i was wondering which side is the back of the bearing and which side is the front that faces the outside? There's a black side and a silver side on each.
The FRONT of the bearing is the side with the part numbers showing.
The bottom bearing picture is the outer face. The top pic is the side that slides into the hub carrier first
A picture worth a thousand words. Look for yourself: If you're wondered: The side that contains the number facing onto the hub (Front side). The side you see in the picture is facing the spindle as shown in your bottom picture.
I'm talking about the front end of my bearings NOT the rears.
- On my 2001 Honda 300ex, I'm replacing the lower steering bearing. How far in does it go until fully seated? I can't seem to get it any farther than flush with the top of the seat. I've tapped it in with a same size socket and it won't go any farther, but it seems like there's still room… How far in does it go?
- Would a bad input shaft bearing noise present during certain rpms while jacked up? My honda civic makes a loud rattle during certain rpms (2000+rpm) in 1st and 2nd gear, it does have a bad isb but the rattle i'm not %100 if it is related to the isb. Should the rattle/grind also be evident if the car is jacked up if it had to do with the isb?
- Why is my 2015 Honda Civic moving side to side when I drive? When I drive 50+, I feel my car shifting side to side just a little bit. Is it because the lug nuts are not tightly screwed on?
- Is my right rear wheel bearing bad? I have a 2001 Honda civic coupe LX. I was driving yesterday when my right rest tire started making a clicking/clacking noise while driving. As soon as the car starts to move, the noise starts. I researched and I found that it could be my wheel bearing. I jacked the car up, and spun the tire and it made the exact same noise as it did yesterday. Is that the wheel bearing causing the noise?
