I just got 35mpg in my Honda CR-V. How is this possible?

How can an SUV get this awesome fuel mileage?

The crv is a very small suv, many wouldnt even class it as an suv but calling it one helps sales.

SUVs get worse fuel mileage than hatchbacks/saloons because they are heavier, less aerodynamic and use larger engines to compensate. Knowing this, I think you can guess why some SUVs are getting better mileage these days.

I get 99 mpg (highest the meter will go) going down hill in my Ram 1500 quad cab.

Because it's not an SUV. It's a crossover.

Part of the credit goes to Honda, part goes to the driver.

It depends on speed
