Is a Jeep Wrangler a good primary vehicle?

I'm in the market for a new car. I have always liked Jeep Wranglers, however the responsible part of my brain says no due to the terrible mileage. So I wanted to reach out to other Jeep owners to find out if the mileage is as bad advertised? Also would a Wrangler be good primary vehicle, or should I keep my current 2007 Honda Fit as my primary vehicle and supplement my fleet with a new Jeep Wrangler for weekend driving? Any advise from current or former Jeep Wrangler owners would be appreciated.

In the back I keep a cab cover and a window bag in the summer for when the top is down which leaves ZERO cargo space. If I have to haul anything at at all, even if it's just a week's worth of groceries, I have to use my husband's Grand Cherokee.
Gas mileage isn't great, about 19 hwy/23 city on mine. Nowhere near what you'd get in your Fit.
As for being comfortable, I don't have any problems. I drove it from NJ to FL and back this past spring with no back pain or anything like that. The 2007-present Wranglers are wider and a little more refined, from what I hear, however I'm not speaking from experience since I've never driven a pre-2007 Wrangler.
IMO, if you have the means to keep both vehicles, do it. My son kind of wants one. He has two Cherokees, but the Wranglers are Way over priced for what you get. He has a couple of friends that have Cherokees too. They spend the week days working on them to get the to run for the weekend. Sure why not Hi yes if you like sitting in your car waiting for the parking brake to come off. As the guy next door spent 30 mins with engine running waiting for his to release the parking brake. Modern technology. I think so. Mine is. Well, kinda. The break a lot and need to get repaired a lot but if you do that they may be ok. Just don't be surprised that they aren't made of higher quality. Don't get me wrong I've owned a lot of Wranglers, both new and used and my dad worked at a jeep dealer. I'd say get one! But just know that they aren't great.

  • What does P mean on a parking ticket where your vehicle type is written? As in: Vehicle GRY HOND P? I received a parking ticket and really can't afford to pay it! My friend told me I should look for typos on the ticket in order to contest it. On the ticket where the vehicle type is listed, the line reads: "Vehicle GRY HOND P". I do own a grey honda, but I was not sure what the P stood for? I tried to google but couldn't find anything - please help!
  • Jeep wrangler vs jetta tdi? I've had my loyal honda for 7 years. Sense it is on its way out I have been looking into different cars. I would like something I can attach a small trailer to and haul my two quads. I've been looking at the 2011 jetta tdi and the 2005 wrangler (4.0). I drive a lot so I prefer something that is good on fuel. I also want to haul my quads. Would the jetta be good?
  • Is the new Jeep Cherokee good off road? Specifically the base Sport model with FWD. I know it's not gonna be rock crawling or mud bogging, but with a good set of all terrains, could it handle occasional dirt roads/trails/wet grass? Do the base models have under body protection? I mean I could just buy a Honda CR-V or Toyota Rav4 if it's at the same level. What about a Cherokee sport with 4WD? Would it be any better?
  • What's a good 2010 vehicle, looking for a fast reliable car any ideas? I've explored lancer gts models, some honda civics sport models. I'm looking to spend around 15k and trying to get my moneys worth. What is a good option Also i'm looking to further upgrade whatever vehicle i buy, through the years of having it
