Why does my 2008 Honda Fit intermittently shake when AC is on, in drive, and foot on brake?
The shake is every 2 to 10 seconds, darn short each time, and hardly strong. (If it happens when I'm driving then it would be hard to notice).
It definitely does not happen when in park or the AC is off.
Three weeks ago I got a rebuilt transmission.

The above three answers are baloney. One thing you can do is check whether the radiator fan or AC pump is turning on and off when the AC is on. With the help of a second person go out in the driveway and open the hood---start the car----turn the AC on and wait until the symptoms start. Watch the radiator fan and see if it is turning on and off with the symptoms you are hearing. If it is not the radiator fan watch the AC pump itself. It may be turning on and off. Either will cause the engine to slow down a bit then come back to idle when the additional power required to run the fan/AC pump comes on line. If either are coming on intermittently you will need to have a switch replaced.
Engine is small and now after you put some mileage on it doesn't have same compression as it had when it was new.

- Why does my car shake? Timming belt was changed but had a oil leake after that. (Didn't have one before). I put oil in the car because I assumed it was low and right after I put Arco gas in it(was running on empty). Right after doing this the car started to shake and felt like it was going to turn off. Check engine light began to blink, battery light would kinda light up. I would reive the engine and it would be fine. This happens only when I have the car at a stop or light. It's a Honda Civic 2004.
- Why does my car shake when I accelerate? Every time I drive my car i press the gas and it has a bad rumbling on the right side of the car. The rumbling starts from 1mph to 30 mph. The faster I go, the sound goes away. It also shakes very little and it makes my steering wheel shake very light. I'm going to take it to a mechanic but if anyone knows and can give me suggestions before getting it serviced. It's a 2009 honda civic ex
- WhY does my car shake so much when I go over little bumps? I have a 2006 honda civic w/more than 100k miles and I traded it in for my other car. My problem is whenever I drive over small bumps, the cAr would shake violently even if I go slow. How can I fix this?
- 95 Honda civic, just started to put and engine would shake every time I accelerate and when AC is on? Yesterday my car drove perfect then today I started it and just when I got on the road it started to shake so I turned off the AC. Then it ran better but once I give it gas it starts to shake again, but if I'm not in gear I can rev it up and there's no shaking just sounds like it runs great. Anyone know what could be causing this problem?
