How often should you get a new battery in a honda coupe 2011?

I have a honda and my neighbor said i should get a new batter for those cars every two yrs. Is this true and if so why is that?

I'd say more every 3 days.

? Your neighbor is an idiot.

You can get a load test done at any oil-change shop, and it only takes 30 seconds. I go to my regular Mr. Lube and they do it for free.

A good battery should last at least 5 years.

No, not every two years.unless you drive a crazy amount. A regular battery should last more like 5 years

I have two motorcycles, 12 and 13 years old. They both have the working, original batteries.

Batteries can last up to 7 years of they may only last a couple of years. Every time you run an auto battery down you shorten it't life. If you never run the battery down then you can expect it to last 4 to 5 years on average. You replace the battery the very first time you start the car and it does not turn over normally. Of course a battery can fail suddenly which does happen. Any sign of a weak battery is the time you replace it.

I got a 2007 1500cc engine Honda with original battery. I was expecting it to last 5 years but it seems they go longer. Maybe 7or 8 years or 9 years. I'm going to wait. You will know when it dies. It won't be immediate but close., so you know when to think about it. Usually in the dead of January. So you are good for now.

Batteries are made to last about four years, that all depends on how hard you use your car. There are only like 4 or 5 places in the country where batteries are made anyway. Their price has gone way up, now a reasonable battey price is around 110.00 bucks.

The average battery lasts 5 years, but it all depends on how you use and drive your car.

Short trips at low speeds will kill your battery faster.
Extremely hot or cold temperatures will kill your battery faster.
Using many electronics in the car and installing a stereo system requiring a higher electrical load will kill your battery faster.

In ideal conditions, your battery could last much longer than 5 years.

It depends mostly on the climate where you live. For the 25 years I lived in Phoenix I never got three summers out of any battery. Here in Flagstaff 5-7 years is normal.

Helps if you disclose where you live snowflake, and the climate.
