How reliable do you think a 2009 Honda Metropolitan scooter?
I can buy one from someone I know and is only asking a $1000 for a 2009 with 3500 miles and says yearly maintenance has been done. Do you think this is good deal and that it still has a good life left on it?
All things being equal I would have no qualms about the mileage.
As to the price I would look at the local price of other Honda mopeds of similar age range.
Anything can be abused or not.
An eight year old with 3500 miles was hardly used but the above still applies.
Honda name implies reliable of any model--unless abused. Campus area has prices from $500.00 to $1500.00 for decent scooters that can park in special spots or bike rack areas. New is $2000.00 or so. 3500 miles is engine broken in--only concern is drive belt, some were 4000 mile belts-mostly mainland Chinese- others from Taiwan and Japan were good for 8000 miles. Life left in it? Maintain it and it'll probably last another 10 years befor some major work- like brakes, tires, drive belts. Campus scooter shop has some 10 to 15 year old scooters serviced, resale after graduations- Yamaha, Honda, Kymco, Tomos.
- Why is my 2006 Honda Metropolitan cutting out at full throttle? When I give my moped full throttle and open it up all the way it just sounds bogged down plus the acceleration is terrible and I have to gradually give it has very slowly. We replaced the air cleaner, fuel filter, coolant, oil, put premium gas in it and also purchased some injector cleaner but it still does this. We thought it was the fuel filter but it hasn't changed it (very much). Any help is appreciated thanks in advance!
- What is the most reliable car you've ever owned and how many miles did you put on it? Mine was Honda Passport with 250,000 miles bought brand new. Yeah I know it was rebadged Isuzu Rodeo but it was surprisingly reliable with no major problems.
- My 2006 Honda Metropolitan Moped is not running right? When I slowly give my moped gas it runs fine until I hit about full throttle, then it like starts to bog down, its hard to explain but we think its a carburetor problem. Due to the previous owner taking off then air cleaner for an unknown amount of time. If you can give me tips/advice I'd appreciate it.
- Would I need a motorcycle license to drive a Honda Metropolitan scooter in Florida? I've been looking into getting one. I also looked up the rules for scooters/mopeds in Florida, but it was a little confusing and I think the scooter I want surpassed some of the maximum requirements for being classified as a scooter/moped.
