I have a honda push mower it ran fine except to spit up black fluid under a load, now it stopped running
Here are the details, its a self propelled bagger. The previous owner ran it without a air filter, and judging from the center of the blade hit something pretty good. I ran it weekly on a half acre lot and when I hit a heavy patch of grass it would bog out blow some blue smoke and cough out black fluid from the overflow port next to the intake of the carburetor. Now it just blew a cloud of smoke and died and won't start.
I have changed and drained the old fuel, replaced the spark plug, checked for spark, compression, and thoroughly cleaned out the carburetor. The oil looks like a darkish gray but no shavings. Also when I turn it over with the sparkplug out I barely see any kind of mist shooting out but yet the intake valve moves. What else could it be?
It coil that produces the current for the spark plug
- I have a Honda HRX217 push mower. Backfired when trying to start it, now it won't start? It was running, then I shut it off to open and close a gate, and when I went to start it again there was a really loud backfire and now it won't start. It will sound like it's almost about to start but not. Then get progressively weaker each pull. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas?
- How long to run a near full gas tank out? Push mower? Is a Honda gvc 160 4.4hp. I would drain it from the gas line but I've got some Lucas injector cleaner in it.So about how long do y'all think? And yes I've already cut my yard two days ago.
- My 2001 Honda Civic stopped running? I was having trouble getting up hills and past 20 mph and then on the highway it stopped accelerating. I also was having trouble getting it into 2nd gear, it would grind hard. So I got it towed to the shop and they can't even inspect it because it won't drive at all. They want me to pay for a new clutch, but I have to wonder if I'll be paying for a new transmission or engine next. Can anyone help me out here?
- Car ran fine then wouldn't start, got a jump, now everything is fine again. What happened? '03 Honda Civic. Last 30 mins of work I sat in my car with the A/C on full blast and radio on, like I do everyday (and of course the car is running). I stopped at Subway after work. The car was parked for 10 mins. After the car would not start but the radio and dash board lights would come on, but it would not crank. Got a jump from AAA. Afterwards Auto Zone tested the battery and alternator, both passed. I has been a week now and no problems. What the heck could have happened?
