04 honda shadow 750 should I buy?

04 with 30k. New tire. New brakes. Says he got it from a friend or something and doesn't drive. Just taking up space. Only thing he said is a car backed into it and needs two mirrors and has a small dent in the tank. He also said he had it checked out and it was fine. He wants $1500. Title in hand.

Check out that 'checked out. Was that written down by a dealership?
Hate bikes that were 'backed into', like which way? Against the side-stand, with the side-stand or up-right on a center-stand.

It would be good to know the "or something" that you mention, and how long he has had it too.

if it has new brakes and a tire someone invested some time and money into it. Did this guy do the work, and why did his friend get rid of it.
Candid Chris is right to suggest you check out his story, and verify some things. Hopefully too, the bike was just "bumped" and not run over.
Certainly, you should be allowed to test drive it to better know how it rides. Too, what is the status of the Title? Is it "clear", Is it in THIS guy's name? Do the numbers on the bike MATCH the ones on the Title. Are the plates current, and has HE ever ridden it?
There's a story to every bike. The more you know the better chance you have to make an informed decision. Will he discount the price for the additional cost of replacing the broken mirrors?
