Is a honda shadow 750 too much bike for a beginner?
I'm a pretty big guy, and they felt comfortable at the dealerships.dealerships. I'm seeing used ones selling for around 2500-3500 i great shape.3000 is about my budget, and I don't have unlimited money, I know people say to start on a 250 and sell it, but I don't really have the funds, and the 250s are about the same money as a shadow 750. I just wanna know if this bike would be an appropriate beginner
If you can handle the weight and it sounds like you can - the power is very linear and controllable. Good choice and it will last you a long time if you keep up with the maintenance (which in minimal).
Should be fine as long as you can handle the machine, moving it around without riding.
The Shadow has good low-end torque, an above average starter-bike but does have a bit of weight to it so slow-stuff is where to be carefull.
Take the motorcycle safety foundation course before you buy a motorcycle.

If you're in California, then take the CHP motorcycle course.
The Honda Shadow 750 is an excellent starter bike. Many folks who start out on Shadows end up sticking with them and bristle when they hear them called "starter" bikes. There are multiple styles of Shadows, it should serve you well.
It is a cruser they are not that fast it would be ok for a beginner
most of the time you tell a new rider to start with a 250 when they want to get into the sport bike market
a 250 to300 sport bike is as fast as a 750 cruser
- Would a Honda Shadow Phantom 750 be a begginer motorcycle? OK. I'm 16 years old I've bought all the nessecary gear I got that idea of watching cyclecruza's squid videos and didn't want that to happen to me. Well because I shouldn't look up to my dad who rides a Harley 1200 who only wears a helment a t shirt and just jeans. I know not to go over the speed limit but all I need to know if thus good first bike.
- What is the max speed in each gear for a 2009 Honda Shadow Spirit 750? I can't find any details, even from Honda, what the maximum speed in MPH is for each of the 5 gear ratios on my 750 Shadow. Also, what is the engine redline? No factory tach and no details on what the engine is capable of turning.
- Is a Honda Shadow a good beginner bike? I really want a cruiser style bike and wanted to know if thus was a good choice for beginners. I'm poor so I'll have to get a used one.
- Is 16,000 miles too much for a 2000 Honda Shadow? I'm going to go see a used 2000 Honda Shadow 600vlx which is being sold for $1500. It has ape hangers, a sissy bar and has been bobbed. Does this sound like a good deal or is there too many miles on the bike to begin with? In addition, what should I look for when I go see it to make sure it's running okay?
