Basic things to know or tricks about a CBR street bike?
So I just got a Honda CBR 600 and its my first street bike and oh $h1t am I in love with this baby. But anyway, this is my first bike so I was gonna have you guys throw out some basic or experienced stuff you guys know about your bike or about how to ride. You know I know to leave the run switch on always and downshift when hittin a steep hill so i'm open to literally ANYTHING you guys know. I don't care if you throw out some dumb things that everyone will know it doesn't matter i'm lookin so learn just about everything about my bike n how to ride so help me out n give me some hints!
You have not picked an ideal bike to learn on.
Sign up to a professional training course now.
Do not try to learn by trial and error or by asking strangers on the internet or your baby will be trashed.
Your best skill is going to be observation and anticipation, because the majority of accidents are avoidable if only you had worked out what was going to happen.
Take the riding class, you will not regret it.
Every second you're on the road, pretend you are invisible.
The first thing out a drivers mouth after they crash into you, "Sorry officer, I didn't see him."
If you ride like you are invisible, you and you alone are responsible for your own safety.
Always leave yourself a way out.
Leave space between you and anything out there.
If you get cut off, or a hazard appears, you'll have an area to swerve into.
A basketball analogy - don't let yourself get boxed in.
Expect the unexpected.
Distracted drivers on cell phones, parked car doors opening, something falling off a truck, potholes, oil soaked roads, loose gravel, pedestrians changing direction for no apparent reason, the list goes on.
Everything out there's on a mission to get you.
Expect it and have a plan to avoid anything.
Give yourself some tests while you're out riding:
What would I do if the car ahead got a flat and started swerving all over the road?
What would I do if that ladder fell off the truck?
What would I do if that sports car tried to cut me off while merging onto the highway?
What should I do if the car ahead waiting at the cross road, made a left turn in front of me?
All that stuff is what you should have learned in drivers ed.
But in a car, you're surrounded by a big safety cage giving you a false sense of security.
So most of it gets shoved into the back of your head.
Experienced riders have a sixth sense about this stuff.
Ride with respect and don't become a statistic.
Congrats bro that's a Hell of a bike super reliable yet powerful, most people will tell you do the msf course, I didn't take that so I say take your time mastering your bike before you try to push yourself, master your throttle and clutch controls, look were you wanna go, lean with the bike unless doing a u tur… Don't show off cause that's when **** happens. But overall enjoy the ride everything will just fall in place as you start learning
- What are some things I need to know about The Honda Indy Toronto race? On July 20th I'm going to the Honda Indy Race in Toronto with my boyfriend. This is my first time going to any type of race and I don't really know a lot about Car races but I don't want to go without knowing what's going on and I don't wanna feel stupid when he starts talking about these things.
- Is it a good idea to get a crotch rocket as a beginner street bike? I really like the Honda CBR 600's. I've actaullu never ridden a crotch rocket. I'm 5'6 exact and 135 pounds. Would this bike be too big? I ride motocross on an RM 125 Suzuki. It's pretty tall. Anyways, am I crazy to want a crotch rocket as a beginner rider? What bike would you guys recommend? Besides a Ninja 250 because I heard you outgrow them and they don't provide much speed/power.
