How difficult is it to rebuild my Honda Rebel Motorcycle transmission?

It is an 06 Honda CMX250. There are broken fork shards inside the transmission (possibly the engine) and I don't have the money to take it in or get a new bike. I have past experience rebuilding since I rebuilt one that's exactly the same as this. I'm patient and willing to take my time to make sure everything is done right. How long would it take to take my transmission off my motorcycle, open up and clean and replace whatever parts needed?

"have past experience rebuilding since I rebuilt one that's exactly the same as this"

Then why ask, since you are the expert?

I know you already know this, but the trans doesn't come off separately from the engine as you've indicated…
Or just a bored troll? Hard to tell.

Find repair manual to help you out. Probably need a few special tools to do the job

Hi so get yourself a Haynes workshop manual for your motorcycle this will explain how to take it apart and rebuild it.

Assuming you have all of the parts and tools and knowledge right there, at hand, eight hours. Butcha won't know how extensive the damage is and what parts and machining you'll need until you get inside. Is there a Honda parts warehouse next door? Gotta lathe? Gotta forge? Gotta mill? If so, no problemo.

  • Want to rebuild engine. What work will I need a machine shop for? I have done a lot of minor car work myself, but this is the first time I've looked into doing an engine rebuild. It's a Honda b18c, and I'm just wondering what work I could likely do myself with basic garage tools, and what work I'll definitely need a machine shop for?
  • Transmission - rebuild or remanufactured? My 2003 Honda Pilot's transmission is finally giving out after 210,000 miles. A new transmission is definitely out of the question. Should I consider getting it rebuilt or buy a remanufactured one? With a rebuild, do they just replace broken/worm parts, or do they change out everything? Now with a remanufactured one, I've been reading that EVERYTHING gets changed out and its also tested to perform correctly, like its original state.
  • What's a good starter motorcycle similar to the Honda Rebel? I'm 5'10, and weigh 150 pounds. I like the honda rebel, but i realize that it may be too small for me. I want a good looking, easy to ride, starter bike that has freeway capabilities.
  • What is the most appropriate motorcycle jacket for someone who rides honda rebel as his first bike? I personally like those nylon looking jackets like revit touring types I guess as oppose to sportier looking ones but really is there a good versatile one for my situation?
